What’s scares me most about Obama is not Obama himself. It’s the HATE that his followers have for those that aren’t with the program. That’s terrifying. I don’t believe in his political views what-so-ever. I didn’t care for Bush either. Okay? So I’m no blind, right-wing, crazy conservative, nor am I racist. I don’t agree with Obama. I think his true goals are far from what he talks about in public. The man is a downright nightmare as president of our United States of America. But his followers? His lemmings? Oh man… don’t get in their way or say anything against Obama or anything about him or his “goals”. He is Jesus, Buddha, Mandala, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Muhammad, John, Paul, George and Ringo all rolled into one.

You’re either with us or against us.

What’s that statement say to you? Yet, I hear it constantly from the followers of Obama.

Frightening. Terrifying. Horrifying. It’s time for some serious time with the movie Brazil Obama: Savior, Hero, Great Leader, Perfection Incarnate?, and the books 1984 Obama: Savior, Hero, Great Leader, Perfection Incarnate?, Animal Farm Obama: Savior, Hero, Great Leader, Perfection Incarnate?, Brave New World Obama: Savior, Hero, Great Leader, Perfection Incarnate?, etc, etc. Fear mongering? Me? No. I couldn’t care less for conspiracy theorists or all the bull of Obama being yet another Illuminati member in office and all that crap. I’m a patriot. I love my country. Many men and women worked hard to build this nation. And now… so many men and women want the country to work hard to take care of them. That’s not how it works. It leads to fascism. It leads to lazy idiots letting the government do all the thinking for them. It’s giving up every right and freedom this nation was founded on.

But, whatever… right? Life’s hard and what’s so wrong with the government helping out just a little here, and there… and there, and with this, and that… and oh yeah, this too, and don’t forget about this one either. Ahhhhh.

I purchased a Plantronics Discovery 925 (Black) Bluetooth headset from N1 Wireless on March 18th through Google Checkout. It was to be a gift for my wife. My order arrived on March 23rd. Upon opening the shipping package it was immediately obvious that two of the ear tips were missing. The one, single ear tip included was the large size. Being that the Bluetooth headset was for my wife the large ear tip was “absolute fail”. So… the Plantronics Discovery 925 works fine, but she can’t use it, because of the missing small and medium gel ear tips… didn’t know which would be the right fit for her but the large was a no-go so it was a worthless, totally unusable headset. Oh, I don’t have a Bluetooth phone (yet) so I couldn’t simply use the headset with my phone and get her another headset.

I contacted N1 Wireless on March 23rd through Google Checkout to inquire about the missing ear tips. No response. Heck, I tried contacting them through Google Checkout again a few hours later to be more clear about my inquiry since I had rechecked their online catalog to verify that the item I purchased from them was indeed supposed to ship with small, medium and large ear tips. No response. I waited until March 28th to contact N1 Wireless again. I also contacted Google Checkout about my issue. A few days later I got a short response– call us on the phone to discuss the issue. Er, that’s moving completely away from the whole customer anonymity that Google Checkout stands by (supposedly).

But I call anyway. Whoa! Big mistake. All I got was the run-around and lies and all sorts of crap. What I didn’t get was any sort of solution to the missing ear tips.

This whole thing is a GIANT mark against N1 Wireless… but also Google Checkout. Both seriously failed on me. I make online purchases on a regular basis and I’ve never had to deal with such a load of BS before this.

AVOID N1 WIRELESS AT ALL COSTS!

By the way… the Plantronics Discovery 925 is an awesome BlueTooth headset. I ordered another one from Amazon last Sunday through a Gold Box deal. I know, I know… I don’t even have a Bluetooth phone but I’m shopping for one and want one yesterday. The Amazon order was the full package INCLUDING all three ear tips– and $5 cheaper than N1 Wireless. Again, the Plantronics Discovery 925 rocks. Amazon rocks. N1 Wireless sucks donkey rear.

Here are more people with complaints. Actually, just a small sampling of what I found through Google. I should have done this search earlier, before my purchase, but I trusted Google Checkout. Not so much any more…

I saw a piece on CNN this afternoon about high school drop out rates in the United States. I knew the rate was bad, but good grief I had no idea how bad it was getting. The Silent Epidemic was mentioned and I quickly tried to view the site. I was promised a site covering the horrible epidemic that we are facing. Instead, I think everyone else watching CNN had the same idea and I couldn’t get the site to load.

Luckily, when I tried again later I was able to get in. I checked out the link to see statistics for any district in the country. First, I checked out Morgan County. 63% graduation rate. Not so hot. Huntsville City Schools? Even worse– 50-something. Yowch.

See, I grew up in Hoover, AL. What’s the graduation rate for Hoover? 89.8%. What about neighboring city Vestavia Hills where the majority of my friends lived? 95.7%. So… yeah, I have my reasons for being so negative about Morgan and Madison counties. Call me a snob, or whatever you will, but I want my daughter to have access to a school system that can provide for her. I keep hearing how great Grissom is and how Huntsville High isn’t far behind, but.. no. I don’t think so. Yes, I’m aware that Johnson, Lee and some other third school (I don’t remember, I don’t care) are bringing the ratio down, but are they so extremely bad to affect the total city ratio so greatly? If neither Grissom or Huntsville can deliver 80%+ then that’s not good enough. Period.

By the time Aegwyn is a teenager the three boys will be out of school. If we have to, we’re moving. Fairfax County, Virgina.. some of the school systems I saw while out in Washington (gah, any reason to move back out to the Pacific Northwest) or heck, even Hoover again. I really don’t get Huntsville. It’s a town of “good enough” everywhere I look. And for me, that’s far from good enough.

Al Sharpton is in trouble for saying in a recent debate that “those who really believe in God will defeat” Republican Mitt Romney for the White House. Why would he say that? Because Romney is a Mormon. Why would he get in trouble for saying it? Because apparently people seem to think that Mormons are Christians.

Mormons are not Christians.

Does that matter in a presidential candidate? Shouldn’t we not even be concerned about a candidate’s religion? How absurd! While I am a staunch believer in the seperation of church and state… having each stay out of the other’s business is not the same as insisting that our leaders leave their beliefs at home or store them in the wardrobe while serving out their term. As a Christian I definitely would prefer a Christian in the oval office. As a majority Christian nation.. most others would agree. That doesn’t mean that I believe Mormons (or any other people of faith) are bad people or that they shouldn’t even be allowed to freely worship in the United States. But they have different views on themselves, our nation and our world. I’m only saying that I’d rather be represented by someone of the same faith. Most others feel the same. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
