So. We’ve been in our ‘new’ house since the middle of January. Last night… the toilet in the guest bathroom choked and attempted to die on us. ie. Drew broke it. He’s bad about that. At the end of a long, long week. It was horrible, horrible. And I know I overeact about such things– but all that toilet water overflowing and EVERYWHERE was more than my clean-freak brain could handle. I thought the toilet was a goner. The tank is in bad shape, the whole thing is attached to the floor badly (it’s sealed, but whomever installed it either didnt care about getting it right or was an idiot) Plunger was a no-go. Not that we didn’t try. We tried and tried to unclog the #*$^@! toilet.

In the end… we fixed it. How? Dish washing liquid! Lots and lots in the bowl followed by a big ol’ bucket of hot water(but not yet boiling.. too hot is bad). Repeat as necessary. It worked. It worked. It worked!!!

And once everything was clean again I fixed everything in the tank (meaning, I took it all apart and redid it all). Now the handle doesn’t ever need to be jiggled any more.

Yeah, I’m writing too much. I always do. But that was a huge stresser for me.
