Sifting Through Troubles

I came across a story about an event that happened the other day in Maywood, California that greatly disturbs me. Was it covered on CNN? No. How about FOX? Nope. Anywhere? I never saw it on TV or in a newspaper.
So what happened? I’m not sure. I wasn’t there. And the majority of folks covering it have extremely slanted views on the matter. But the part that bothers me most is that during whatever occurred the US flag flown at the United States Post Office in Maywood, California was replaced by a Mexican flag. Just a piece of cloth? No. The symbolism in what was done just makes me ill.
Am I anti-hispanic? Heck no. Our youngest boy’s best friend is Hispanic. His parents are great. Everyone I’ve ever met that are Hispanic are great people. I admit though that I haven’t met many. Those that are here legally are having a Hell of a time, I’m sure, because of the crap caused by the illegals. There are those within the Hispanic group here in the United States that need to be removed immediately. Illegal aliens are just that— illegal. Get out. Now. Especially those in the minority that proclaim this invasion of illegals to be a retaking of old Mexico. Yes, there are those that see it as such and their numbers are growing.
Also, I get that immigrants pouring into this nation are never welcome at first. Italians, Polish, Germans, Japanese (internment camps, anyone?), etc had their moments in time dealing with hate. But they didn’t demand special treatment. They didn’t demand access to the same privileges of citizens. They are to be admired (as a whole) for ducking and dodging through the crap and focusing on their dreams. It’s a shame they had to deal with being treated as third class trash, but they took it and eventually assimilated into the nation. And there are plenty of legal Hispanics here now dealing with the same crap and yet pushing on. However, the loud Hispanic aliens don’t want to become a part of this nation. They want the nation to become their nation. That is unacceptable.
But this is an issue that few seem to even care about. Oh, they’ll share an opinion or two but actually do anything about it? No, never. There’s too many people in the middle, surrounded by extremists on both sides, that are unhappy about this but don’t do squat about it. We don’t need violence. We don’t need racial slurs and ignorance. We need our nation to survive. It can be done as a melting pot. No need to lock everybody out. But those here illegally must go.
