Stokin' the Fire Barbecue Festival

Birmingham, Alabama is holding its first ever “Stokin the Fire BBQ Festival“ at Sloss Furnaces this weekend (August 26-27). Professional barbecue cooks and amateurs will be competing with $20,000 in prize money and trophies up for grabs. Organizers are hoping to make this event a major annual festival.
Festival goers will be able to sink their teeth into everything from barbecue chicken to ribs and also seafood with food prices ranging from $5 to $12. They’ll also be entertained with live music and children will have plenty of activities to enjoy— including huge inflatables, a spray water area, crafts and more.
I think I know where I’d like to be this Saturday…
