I’ve had a copy of The Descent laying around for almost a week. Released in 2005 in Europe, it’s not due for release here in the states until August 4 and I really didn’t know much about it so I haven’t been in a hurry to watch it. But over the past few days I’ve come across many sites that claim the film to be the best horror in years, or even a potential best film of the year. That’s more than enough to pique my interest. But then I just read that “… the film’s ending was altered for U.S. audiences from its original release to make it a bit more upbeat.” Say what? Apparently the original ending ‘irritated’ Americans. Mmmm’kay. I’m even more curious now.
