So, I’ve just entered the house with the mail and Christina calls. She asks if I saw the giant spider that was all nested in the corner of our front door frame this morning. “The what!?” I ask, because no, I didn’t see it. And I didn’t want to. Not that it being there is all that bad but if it was I walked past it many times and never saw it. That’s the part I didn’t like. Looking out, there it was. Ack! This thing… the length was 2.5 inches or so. Jeez. The abdomen was bright gold with black and some white. The legs were red with “thigh high black leather boots”. Hey, it’s the best way I can think of to describe it. So I knocked it from the door frame and killed it. Not for being a spider, but for being in the door frame. I’m sorry, but that just freaks me out.
It turns out that this particular spider is a Golden Orb Weaver. K, thanks, neat. At least it wasn’t another black widow spider. Before moving to Huntsville, I’d seen one black widow in my life. Since then (3 years ago) I’ve seen three more.

So, this is good news. Twice. I find at Kotaku that Tim Burton is going to do a film based on the great video game, Grim Fandango. Very cool, indeed. The game is a true classic. But also in the mix of the article it’s mentioned that Timmy is currently working on Sweeny Todd. What’s that? You’ve need heard of Sweeny Todd? Click those links and this one too. Anyway, I just think it’s cool that both films are coming out. Sure, it’ll be more than a year before we see either, but I can wait. I’ve got lots to do before then.

This weekend is my Aunt Sharon’s and Uncle Don’s 50th wedding anniversary. The event will be the first time the family is all together again since my Grandmother passed away a few years ago. Most everybody lives in Anniston but for some reason the party is in Birmingham. We were going to head down to Birmingham tonight to hang out with friends but with Christina’s pregnancy plans change often and this is one of them. Since she’s exhausted by 8 pm every evening we thought it would be a good idea to put off leaving for Birmingham until tomorrow morning.
But now, because we’re staying in Huntsville we can go see Seussical tonight instead of waiting until next weekend. But wont Christina be too tired to do that? “No!”, she insists. Okay. Great! However, that plan is now out too. Christina’s sister-in-law is in town. Forget that the boys aren’t, Christina only mentioned it to Carey three thousand times, she’s in town now instead of waiting a few days. Plus, Christina’s mom and step-dad’s anniversary is today. So, we’re all going out for dinner this evening– Red Lobster or Mikato. Yea. I guess.
So, tonight was to be out with friends in Birmingham, including one that is moving to North Carolina before we can return to Birmingham. Then it was Seussical. Now it’s dinner out with the in-laws. I’m tired now. Can we just stay home? Or maybe I’m catching something.. Yeah, that’s it.

There’s more on these criminals…
“It just blew my mind. I almost thought it was a joke in the beginning, you know. It was almost too unreal to believe,” customer Elizabeth Wilson tells NewsChannel 5 investigative reporter Jennifer Kraus. Just two days after Wilson and her husband bought a 2005 Chevy Equinox, the dealer tried to take it away, using what Wilson called fear and intimidation. “There was no way to get out. They surrounded my car with seven people and stood in my doorframe. Couldn’t start the car. Couldn’t shut the door in 97-degree weather,” Wilson recalls. The Wilsons bought the car at the Bill Heard dealership in Huntsville, Ala.
