Yeah, so I’d heard about Coke Blak a while ago, wondering if Coca-Cola would ever launch the product here in the states. Then recently I’ve seen commercials for it on TV. Today I read on the official site that the product will be released here in the states in 3 days. What is it? Coca-Cola calls it a “carbonated beverage that fuses Coke effervescence with coffee essence”. Sounds interesting to me. Could be amazing, could be a huge dud.
It occurred to me to try my own little Coca-Cola coffee concoction. Why not? I used to do the same quite often to make my own Cherry Coke and Vanilla Coke. My own versions are actually many times better than the bottled variety. So… why not mix a little coffee and Coke? My first sip was like drinking regular Coke with the smell of coffee– make that a strong smell even though I only added 2 tablespoons (not ground beans or anything sillies, fresh brewed coffee) to a big plastic cup of Coke. Second? Yummy Coffee-Coke. Third? It hits me that the strong coffee I added to the Coke needs a tiny (TINY!) bit of extra sweetness. But overall? It’s quite yummy. New addiction? Could be…

Wow, wow, wow, wow and wow. I tend to dig through the iTunes Music Shop every Tuesday after getting the free tune. Today I came across Norwegian singer, Kate Havnevik. Dunno squat about her but her album, Melankton, is amazing, beautiful and my new must have album to listen to over and over. She somewhat reminds me of Imogen Heap.

I have to admit, when the Nintendo DS was first shown and even for months after its release I wasn’t all that impressed. But a few months ago I took another look at it and the games that have been released– as well as the games coming out ’soon’. I’m impressed now. Greatly so. I’m trying so hard to be patient and wait for the new DS Lite. But… ah, I know I can make myself wait, I just don’t want to wait too long.
Here’s some footage of New Super Mario Bros. Its just awesome.

After a long weekend filled with a 3 game soccer tournament, church and laundry, shopping, etc Christina and I found ourselves knocking our heads together to come up with something to do yesterday afternoon. A game? World of Warcraft? Dominos? What about something with the kiddos? I mentioned Mario Party, which she’d never played before, and before I knew it I was at a local game shop looking for a used copy. No Mario Party 6 or 7. Drat. So off to Wal-Mart. They had both and I went with 7. Ended up being $75 since I also had to buy a fourth controller (my original orange Gamecube controller bit the dust a few years ago, don’t think that color is even made any more).
When I got home with the game and showed it to the kiddos they were both quite excited about the game. Micah (age 8 ) was literally hopping around the living room. Noah (age 5) had his biggest grin lighting up his face. Christy and I made them go through all sorts of stuff to get the game, including singing songs for us. Yeah, evil. But it was all fun. We played a quick 10-turn game before dinner. Compared to previous Mario Party games (1, 2 and 3) that I’d played I was really impressed with the graphic improvements and the new mini-games. Mario Party is a great equalizer. When we all try to play Super Mario Striker, Super Smash Bros. or just about any other game there’s always someone that’s much better than the rest and it gets old after a while for the losers. With Mario Party it was all over the place with no single ‘best player’. Christy actually won the first game. She pointed out over and over how it was the first time ever that she’d won a game against us. Later in our second game we went with a 20-turn game. Bowser got in our way more often with the more turns and star collecting (object of the game) seemed almost futile for us. But as the game was wrapping up Noah got his hands on a few, Christy gained and lost some and Micah and I ended up with zero. Only in the bonus round did I ever see a star. Noah of course won the game which really helped his ego.
If you’ve got kids and you’re looking for a great game to enjoy with them Mario Party is the game. There’s been seven releases in the series, starting on the Nintendo 64 platform with the last three titles on the Gamecube. It truly is an easy game to learn and enjoy for all ages.

I caught AI on TV last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
That’s right… I’m an AI addict. What’s that? American Idol didn’t come on last night? You are correct, sir. It was American Inventor. Finally, an AI for the rest of us.
So, basically its a toilet paper holder with a lotion dispenser on top?
Yes.
Ooookay.
For anyone that did watch, I thought the sand (etc) shoveling device and the ‘dog in the car’ AC unit were rather cool. All that bathroom stuff would sell like mad in Japan. The inventors should have pointed that out, how could they (assuming they all are international travelers) not know that?
