What is Night Watch and how did I miss it until now? From what I can gather it is an incredibly awesome looking fantasy/horror film, first in a trilogy, filmed and released in Russia in 2004. Now it is set to debut here in the states on July 29 in select cities. Of course there’s a trailer available at Apple’s Quicktime site.

Christina and I actually sat down to watch Lost last night instead of downloading it. We usually download it because ABC has it running from 7pm to 8:01pm which would keep my ReplayTV from recording anything running in the 8pm-9pm slot if I recorded Lost. ABC does this on purpose to cause problems for viewers so I download Lost. I think that’s fair. To whomever is responsible for last night’s episode, what was that mess? One full hour of clips from the past season? We’ve seen those. We’ve seen them all. It’d be different if extras from the castaways lives from before the crash was thrown in or a few new angles were revealed but it was nothing more than a look back at season one. Big. Giant. Yawn.

So, since I missed Smallville to watch Lost I downloaded it. I’ve been watching it this season, though not much before beyond an episode or two in the first season. Most of the shows have been quite disappointing, leaving me questioning why I bother to watch at all. But last night (of course) was a really good show. If that sort of quality came out all of the time, well… I’d be a huge fan and so would even more people, I’d bet. Kill the campy, ridiculous shows WB and maybe, just maybe you’d have something really awesome.

I just finished watching the 5th episode of the new Doctor Who series. It would be nice if SCI-FI or someone else carried the show here in the states, but that’s not what I’m writing about now. After five episodes I still can’t believe Doctor Who is back. It’s so cool watching the Doctor running around doing his thing to save the universe, or sometimes just Earth. Christopher Eccleston makes for an excellent Doctor and Billie Piper is great as his side kick, Rose. But that’s still not what got me here to write at 1am.

Just what is it, then?

THE NEXT EPISODE WILL HAVE DALEKS! Can’t wait!

I don’t care why most people seem to hate Enterprise. It has been my favorite Star Trek show and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the past four years. So, screw you Paramount for canceling something I liked. And for the record, Star Trek: Insurrection had poor interest because it was a horrid film. Not because people didn’t want to see another Star Trek movie. Give us a good story-line along with the effects and we’ll show up in droves.

Scott Bakula told SCI FI Wire, “You see, when we started, there was always the idea that we would be the next movie cast and movie ship. But all the people who were interested in that are gone.”
